Okay, i have to admit. Im not exactly your religious kind of guy. Despite of my name, u would usually me do something stupid rather than religious stuff. God, please forgive me.
Why am i bringing this up? Well its because i thought that i've been given plenty of "2nd pick" choices in life by the almighty god himself. In a short, god always seems to show me the better choice, although that choice isn't actually my first choice thing.
1. Take example of my first case, at that time i was having a very hard time choosing a next gen gaming console. At that time i only thought of the xbox as the best next gen console because of all the hype that surrounds it. I practically work my ass off in australia trying to get the money. Whether it was delivering newspaper to actually becoming a cashier in the local grocery, i did it all.
After a while, i managed to collect the money. I went to a local store to pick up the xbox. But then something struck, the bloody store actually ran out of xbox. I thought it was pretty stupid and prepared to go back and wait for a week or so before actually i fixed my eyes on my love one.
A playstation 2.
I stick to that thing ever since, never regretting about not buying the xbox.
2. My number two was when i had to pick where im gonna study after finishing high school. At that time i picked my mom's faculty, a Communication course in UNS. I was planning to get in through the PMDK. Why is that? I always wanted to become a journalist, or at least someone who write random stuff around. I thought it would be a nice idea to do a course in communication.
At that time i also went to UM UGM, but that was only because my mother told me to. I didn't like Yogya then. I thought it was a bloody crowded place and there was an aura or arrogance around it (strangely that feeling is gone now, lol)
For UM, i thought at first i could only pick 2 subject. I was planning to study communication anyway, so i put my choices down as Communication and English literature. In the end, i found out that i had to pick 3. What i did then i actually put management up the top because i didn't think i'd be smart enough to get a that first pick and that i'd actually get my 2nd, that is Communication.
It turns out that i got rejected at UNS and didnt even make it to Communication UGM too. Im stuck at management till now. Lol...
3. My 3rd one is a little bit personal. It was the usual, "trying to find a girlfriend" kind of thing.long story short, I had my eyes fixed on someone, got close, but eventually decided abort the mission after a consideration from one of my closest sources. Besides, she was playing hard to get anyway (i hate hard to get girl, lol) so i decided to go against her.
Then? Out of the blue i met with my lovable girl and we stuck together nicely ever since up until this point and till the future. Pretty neat, huh?
4. This was recent. I applied for a scholarship to Japan. This was my last ditch chance to go abroad. I actually risked everything to get this scholarship, rejecting some mouth flavouring prospect in between.
The result? Again god showed me that 1st choice isn't always the best for me. I got rejected. But from that rejection i somehow manage to land myself a job opportunity with Microsoft and even got myself a brand new spanking Touch Pro 2 mobile phone.
Getting the touch pro 2 was a bit of a 2nd chance too. I had decided to settle for the one that cost me 6.2 in internet. That was a bit high and i would've probably settled in on the 5.8 prices, although it has some scratched in it. The plan was that im gonna wait for my exchange money that i've paid, to be returned back to me and then sell my phone to broker the whole deal.
Week went past and i still not able to sell my phone and let alone get the money back. It was the financial year end and they couldn't get my money out. The guy who sell the phone in the internet cant hold on to it for to long and i told him to sell the phone anyway. I thought if it was gonna be mine, then im gonna see it again in the future.
Sikap ikhlas kayak gini yang jarang keliatan di gw...hahaha
Anyway, day went past and someone ask to buy my phone and promised to pay on sunday. So i said yes, i'll wait on sunday. Then out of nowhere i was called by my faculty to pick the money up on friday. Surprised they actually manage to get my money.
Then again, i unexpectedly picked up a call on saturday. It was from the one of the phone counter whom earlier i had asked to get me the touch pro 2. He gave me a perfectly solid phone, indonesian warranty until august 2010 and best of all, he gave me price of only 5.4. I was surprised and i actually told him to hold the phone and i picked it up in the next day.
Dear Allah, i've always entrusted you with my fate. And so far, through bitter rejection and not so pleased experience, u've shown me that a human can only try their best and that you will decide what's best for them.
Thank you
Alhamdulillah....
